Im 72, I have come to understand more over the last twenty years than I ever was aware of when I was at primary and high school. I had no idea about colonisation or its impacts we were told and taught nothing in regards to this..i have become an active ally, learning more and sharing what I am learning . Deep inside me as I recall my adolescence I always felt there’d been injustice to first nations people but had no one to discuss this with or find any answers to gain knowledge, until mabe the tent embassy establishing then through their the activism , The awful history and Truth telling must be foremost and treaty is imperitive. Always was Always Will Be Aboriginal Land!
I am longing to learn more and see language return, so I can learn more and for my children and grandchildren’s experience. History and culture should b part of every education system across the lands starting in kindergarten
First people taking charge of all history and culture areas so the truth and facts and experiences come from the source. But also sovereignty and land back!
