Loss of First Nations skills and knowledge -no acknowledgment or respect of the vast knowledge systems or family centered practice. Lots of poorly considered political policies – lead to racist values and genocide Minority of well-intentioned actions by individuals but not mainstream Education systems were so far behind progressing Lack of truth telling
Nil in my educational past Working with an organisation who values First Nations culture and actively progresses actions through a RAP, has led to parenting my children and sharing the truth of our past and investigating the vast knowledge systems held by First Nations, especially the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation.
Embedding historical truth, progressing respect within our educational settings – I see children as the future but also the changemakers in their own families. Unsettling previous racist narratives.
Sharing stories – tuth from past and progressing forward with respect and integrity (sharing with our children) Being better allies : https://vimeo.com/1018164518/fd60babd2c?share=copy
