The colonisation project was devastating and brutal and to a large extent destroyed an incredibly rich and diverse pathwork of cultures that lived with a great understanding of the land and how to manage resources. Over the years I’ve learnt more but mainly through reading and exhibitions. Colony exhibition at the NGV was really good. One thing I learnt only recently was how different the landscape looked due to the management pre colonisation was and just how well managed it was by First Peoples
