Comhar Group is a legal and policy advisory firm. Its lawyers practice across all mainland Australian jurisdictions working with Indigenous land rights, native title regimes and environmental law. This submission draws attention to the various findings in the Commonwealth Royal Commission into Aboriginal Land Rights, and the resulting legislative regime set out in the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth). It provides examples of approaches that may be useful in Victoria to provide redress for past, present and ongoing dispossession.
