This submission from Rod Duncan is about his own awareness-raising / truth-telling realisation, learning of the sudden, rapid and extensive dispossession of the Indigenous population around Melbourne within the first few years of local colonisation due to colonial authorities selling exclusive private ownership of vast tracts of land. he impacts on First Peoples of the rapid and extensive conversion of open land to private property in the early years of Melbourne would have been catastrophic and irreversible but remain unknown to those residing on it today.
