What do you know about the colonisation of Victoria and its impacts on First Peoples?

Not much. I only know surface level details as I couldn’t find an authoritative source summarising and detailing the relevant history.

What has been your experience learning about First Nations history and culture in Victoria's education system? Do you feel it was comprehensive?

I don’t have Victorian primary or secondary education as I am a migrant.

What changes would you like to see in Victoria to promote better understanding and respect for First Peoples cultures?

Slow but deliberate positive discussion in the mainstream media, aimed at changing the shared understanding of the trauma and promoting of a bright future plan.

In what ways do you think non-First Nations Victorians can contribute to the process of truth-telling and treaty?

  1. Collect and document all history in order to create an authoritative source of history.
  2. Education within the first people so they expand into more policy making roles.
