Submission 3 – Victorian Aboriginal Children and Young People’s Alliance (Education)

The Victorian Aboriginal Children and Young People’s Alliance (VACYPA) represents fifteen Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations that provide family, child and youth services in Victoria. This submission provided analysis that supports recognition of the failure of  current measures in closing the gap or achieving improvements in the education experiences of Aboriginal children. It calls for systemic reform including a focused structural approach that prioritises shared history and cultural safety and wellbeing so that Aboriginal children can thrive in school.
